Our 2011 'Ukulele instruction will feature
Kimo Hussey and special guest instructors Steven Espaniola and Hiram Bell.  We will be offering Slack Key (ki ho'alu) with Patrick Landeza.  Lei Hulu (feather lei) will be instructed by Herman Kekoa Mossman Tachera and Kumu Analu Akao of Halau Hula 'O Kupukalau'ie'ie will be sharing his aloha with Hawaiian culture related sessions such as Hula, Hawaiian language and Oli (chant).

The 3 day and 2 night all inclusive workshop/retreat will be held at the beautiful Westerbeke Ranch in
Sonoma Valley Wine Country August 26th-29th 2011.

Planned for 2011
  • 2 nights / 3 days of 'Ukulele, Slack Key or Feather Lei instruction
  • 'Ukulele breakout sessions specific to beginner and advanced/inter. level.
  • Additional sessions by local guest instructors
  • Optional sessions: Hula, Oli (chant), 'Olelo (Hawaiian language) and Lei Hulu (feather lei)
  • Nightly wine receptions - taste local wines of the valley
  • Nightly kanikapila sessions
  • Saturday evening benefit concert - relax poolside under the stars and enjoy the smooth sounds of your music instructors and special guests!

  • Ukulele display and Q&A discussion with several local custom ukulele builders; test drive some of the best locally made custom ukes;
  • E Ho'omau Workshops will again offer a Youth Scholarship

Scholarsip Details

$600 for 'Ukulele, Slack Key or Feather Lei Workshop: includes all fees and materials , all gourmet meals, shared accommodations, and all extra activities. Companion rate: $500 includes all except 'Ukulele, Slack Key and Feather Lei workshop sessions. Rate without accommodations (if you choose to stay off-site): $450.  

The workshop begins at 10:00 am Friday August 26th and ends Sunday afternoon August 28th. For 2011 we are offering an optional extra day to extend your stay through Monday August 29th for $150 additional.  There will be no scheduled instructional sessions but it includes three meals, accommodations and pure relaxation.
